IheartIkea

Ohemgee. It was Saturday and I needed to go out in public. My kids needed to see there was more to life than our house and yard. So the most logical place to go...Ikea!! I haven't been there in awhile and I wanted to walk around and get some ideas and start a list of things I want need :) Like my dream kitchen that I found. (Really upset I didn't take a picture of it). So I recruited my mom and we went. The place was packed. Great people watching. And a couple's fight. Success!

Some may say that their stuff is cheap (some of it is) but I say I have two kids and it gets the job done! And there's a ton of cute little things that you can get. Like these:
Which Nate turned into this:

Among my wish list is this lamp for Ava's room *that's still a work in progress
Aaaaand this sweater blanket..I can picture myself cuddled in this with a pumpkin spice latte

While we're at it...in this chair

OK well I hate to bounce from my less than stellar blog post...that's a day late ... but I need to get my Insanity on before Nate wakes up from his nap and climbs out of his crib. OH yeah we do that now.

look what I can do

I leave you with one question. Does this ready "Get money, Mo money" ooor "Get Mo Money Money"??  Either way, sign me up.

Fitness Friday

Dear Shaun T,

By dig deeper, did you mean .. dig deeper into your floor? Because that's where I found myself. After only day 2, you and I have a love/hate relationship. How does that happen in two days?

I know it's going to be a vicious cycle, Shaun T, because I will keep coming back fo mo!
...Even though I look extremely sun burnt afterwards and continue to sweat after my shower.

Until tomorrow,
Sweatbox Sarah

Insanity: Insanity, craziness or madness is a spectrum of behaviors characterized by certain abnormal mental or behavioral patterns.

Sounds about right! Who starts a workout routine on a Thursday anyway, you ask? Apparently me.
the glare.

Allow me to give you a little recap of today:

Plyometric Cardio Circuit
  • WARMUP: Jog, jumping jacks, high knees, butt kicks, mummy kicks and more (You do 3 circuits of the warmup).
  • STRETCH
  • CIRCUIT 1: Suicide drill, power squats, mountain climbers, ski down (You do Circuit 1 3 times)
  • CIRCUIT 2: Football sprints (You do Circuit 2 twice)
  • CIRCUIT 3: Basketball shots, push-ups, mountain climbers, burpees, ski drills, in-and-outs (You do Circuit 3 three times)
  • CIRCUIT 4: Jabs, cross-jacks, uppercuts, attacks
  • STRETCH

Yeahhh so every now and then I went ahead and took my water break a little early. Not going to lie, I was losing my energy by the end! I didn't feel bad though, because the people in the video (not Shaun T of course...he was "checking" everyones form. MMhmmmm.) we're dieing. What do you expect though when you start sweating from the warmup.

It's all going to be worth it though right!.....Right?
pretty much.

P.S. I realize it's only preseason but LETS GO GMENNNNN!!!!

POOP EVERYWHERE

OK. Soooo everything I had considered talking about today:

-How I started Insanity (I'm alive but dead after the fit test...results = zero fit as in not fit)

-How Ava turned 3 months today
(Happy 3 Months sweet angel girl)

-Another Awkward/Awesome post
you know you have

-Maybe a link up with some awesome girls who started an Always/Sometimes/Never post

ALL went out the window when I went into the living room and saw poop on Nate. A blob of poop on the floor. Poop on his LEG and FOOT.
 What.
 Just.
 Happened.

We are dog sitting for our friend so I naturally blamed her first. (sorry, Zoey)

Giiirlllll you know that wasn't me.

But THEN I saw poop coming out of Nate's diaper.  I found the poop master.

POOP EVERYWHERE.
Post poop party. You're still cute.

I can't even focus because I'm still recovering from all of this. It was more intense than my fit test. Insanity in the diaper, if you will.

I'd like to see Shaun T "dig deeper!!" into that.
show off.

That's all I have for today.  It's time to meet with Sir Walter. And clean my carpets.

Suzie Homeaker

Welll helllooo there!!

Be prepared for words.

Today I'm going to chat chit about my domestic/homemaking ish thus far.

About me trying to get that whole thing down.

While I think I'm making strides there is definitely room for improvement. Never ever did I think I would be a stay at home mom (or SAHM's I guess is what we're called?). I always said if I won the lottery (and by if I mean when) I'd still have a side job, ya know, just cause. Well here I am, a SAHM. And it's not as easy as you may think (because I had thought what you're thinking..how hard could it be?). I had some assumptions. I assumed there would be redecorating (side note - you need extra mula for that), that I could workout when I wanted, make fancy shmancy dinners, have a spotless house, hang outside doing outside stuff. (OK maybe I knew better than that, but I had high hopes. Nothing wrong with that).
Lets see...I have lots of decorating ideas saved on my computer , I'm lucky if I can follow a workout routine for a week, the crockpot is my savior,  I haven't figured out how to budget for a housekeeper...yet (that's where the lotto thing comes in) and alot of times we just don't make it outside.

So, unless you're a Beverly Hills mom with a nanny, you've got some work cut out for you. (Yes, I may of watched all available episodes of Beverly Hills Nannies that were available on demand this morning.) But don't hate. I was up with a certain toddler at 4:15am...not mentioning any names...I think I deserved some down time.
Great show btdubs. And the nanny ringleader, Kristin, is ridiclously pretty:

It probably sounds like I'm complaining, but I promise I'm not. I'm just wanting to wipeout any misconceptions you may have about a SAHM (...apparently I like the acronym). I've also been up since 4am. Ooh I said that already. Really though, I realize how very lucky and blessed I am to be able to stay home with my little ones. Mold them (into said housekeepers... jk!!....maybe), help them grow and watch them reach each and every new milestone.

Which brings me to developing routines.

We have morning and nap time pretty much down. What I never really had was the whole bath and bedtime story combo. I kind of underestimated it. I know, I know,  its a very simple and common concept , but, what can I say. Well it is here and here to stay! Nate is finally over his "the bath is the devil" stage...not really sure where that came from and he actually sits for a story. Or two. Or five. And I honestly think I love storytime more than him. He curls up on my lap and its a great way to end the day, for both of us.

OOOOK well then that's enough for today, eh! More babbling on meal planning, decorating, and fitness to come. I don't want to use up all of my blog post ideas in one! AND my gourmet crockpot dinner is ready.

If you're still reading this, you're probably my sister. So, thanks Colleen ;-)
If you're not my sister and you're still reading this.... Love ya mean it!

Duct tape fixes everything

Like this:

dipping our veggies through the cracked bottom part of the container was not enjoyable, and we were not into the challenge. Or potential finger amputation. Solution=Duct tape. Insert mommy problem solving skills.

Thankfully for Nate, his fruit dip was not broken

Too much dippy make Nate sleepy

This was the highlight of my weekend! He fell asleep holding onto the front (where he always sits) and every time I went to move him to lay down he made his way back up there to go back to sleep. It was aaaadorable. And I may of taken 293842032 shots of it. Gotta capture the moment, ya know?

like this, this, this annnnd this

I was really excited to see a swan swim up to the boat
.....until I found out that they can be nasty. Which in turn made me re-evaluate wanting to get a picture with it
Get me out of hereeee

Moving on to Saturday...I've decided Matt and I are officially professional wedding goers. In the almost 3 years that we've been together we have been to about 105 weddings, give or take. (and even missed out on some along the way). But we do love them! (and are lucky to have so many friends)

Aaaand no pics from Sunday, because we were recovering :-) Actually... "someone" else was recovering, I  was surprisingly being domestic. Grocery shopping, cleaning...getting "necessary" things from Target. You know, important stuff. Hope my short & sweet weekend recap in photos gave you the break from work that you need on a Monday ;-)  Now I have to go work off the pizza rolls that I bought for Nate. Ooops!

Friday is my 2nd favorite F word

.... Just kidding, mom.

Since Friday starts with "F" it only makes sense to blog about a Few of my Favorite things that start with "F". See how that all goes together? Genius. That's why they pay me the big bucks.

1. I can't start my day without this bad boy in my coffee:
Creme Brulee or Bust.

2. I went to a Scentsy party last night. Holy good smells. I'm always so indecisive when picking out the smells I want. My newest favorite scent is the White Tea & Cactus. I might of also got two other scents and a mid size burner for our room. Shhh.

3. My favorite and I mean FAVORITE wine is Sir Walters from a vineyard near us. Its totes mcgoats. The bee's knees. The knob to my door. The button to my shirt. For realsies though it is seriously so good I've drank the whole bottle by myself. I mean I could. I didn't today.  I mean....... their small bottles.
Hello, Sir.

4. 2 of my favorite new outfits for Ava from 2 awesome friends :) Thank you awesome friends.
All a girl needs are high waisted shorts, an over sized headband and an adorable bow on their diaper cover thingy Oh and an adorable smile. Seriously how cute?? I'm kind of partial.

5. My fave chapstick is Lipsmackers, Cotton Candy edition. I seriously have been using this since I came out of the womb. That long.

6. My favorite sign that I need to have in my life, on my walls. Its so sweet. Oh, Etsy...you're going to be the death of my wallet. And its already pretty dead.

7. My favorite crew. Please disregard Ava looking like shes about to motorboat me. She took us being on the boat a bit literal.

Speaking of boats, we're off to the lake today!! Which is my favorite thing to do in the summer. Hope your weekend is one for the books. I have an open bar waiting for me on Saturday. Don't mind if I do! Ah, I love weddings.
